Market Opens:
Indian indices opened higher on January 9 with Nifty around 21,650.
The Sensex was up 472.38 points or 0.66 percent at 71,827.60, and the Nifty was up 149.00 points or 0.69 percent at 21,662.
About 2172 shares advanced, 263 shares declined, and 89 shares unchanged.Bajaj Auto , Wipro, Infosys, Tata Motors and LTIMindtree were among major gainers on the Nifty.
