Market extended the winning run on the second consecutive day on March 28 with benchmark indices went closer to record high.
Biggest gainers on the Nifty included Bajaj Finserv, Grasim Industries, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Finance and Eicher Motors, while losers were Shriram Finance, Tech Mahindra, Axis Bank, Reliance Industries and HCL Technologies.
All the sectoral indices ended in the green with auto, healthcare, power, capital goods up 1 percent each, while oil & gas, bank, realty FMCG gained 0.5 percent each.
The BSE midcap index added 0.6 percent and the smallcap index was up 0.4 percent.

Worries over the Chinese economy’s ability to sustain demand weighed on copper markets, with stocks of deliverable copper remaining steady and the Yanghsan copper premium sharply lower, indicating reduced demand for physical copper from factories.

The Sensex was up 167.16 points or 0.23 percent at 73,163.47, and the Nifty was up 54.30 points or 0.25 percent at 22,178.00. About 1599 shares advanced, 534 shares declined, and 106 shares unchanged.
Power Grid Corp, Dr Reddy’s Labs, Wipro, Bajaj Finserv and HDFC Life were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Apollo Hospitals, Bajaj Auto, Titan Company, M&M and Britannia Industries.
